Courses are taken by:
Stewart McGill, Chief Instructor of the Urban Krav Maga Association and Senior Instructor with The British Combat Association;
Leo Negao, 4-time Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Champion.
Leo has trained extensively with Anderson Silva and Antonio Noguiera (Minotauro) and his track record stands for itself. Stewart is one of the UK's most respected Martial Arts Instructors, see the following references:
"Your knife work is superb"
Renshi Anthony Pillage, Chief Instructor, Way of the Spiritual Warrior Martial Arts
"(your seminar) was superbly practical and clearly proved why so many techniques that look good are of little value in real life close encounters"
Swee Lip, Chief Executive Master Sken Academy
Urban Krav Maga is a highly respected, established system with strong credibility in the Martial Arts community. We draw upon our past and current training experience to create and continually update the system - we strongly believe in an unlimited system, i.e. one that integrates the best from a range of martial arts rather than being limited to do what we're told by a small group of people.
This course will make a real difference to you whether you are an experienced martial artist looking to become an Instructor with us or wish to attend on a seminar basis as a regular student.
See below for more details.
To contact us, call Stewart on 0791 261 6361 or e-mail him on kravmaga.elondon@btinternet.com giving details of your previous and current martial arts training.
Next Dates and Location
16- 20 September
Location: Central London, exact location to be confirmed.
Training will be between 8am and 6pm every day.
Successful Instructor Candidates will complete 2 of the 5-day seminars and a test at the end of their second 5 days. The courses will run at regular intervals during the year so if you can complete only one of the above 5-day courses you will be able to attend the next one at which you will be available to complete the course. You must complete the 2 courses within a 12-month period to qualify as an instructor.
It is highly advisable to complete the courses as close to each other as you can.
See below regarding attending some or all of the course on a non-instructor training basis, i.e. as an intensive "bootcamp."
INSTRUCTION
The course will be taken by Stewart McGill, Chief Instructor of the Urban Krav Maga Association, and Leo Negao, former Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Champion and Team Minotauro's representative in London.
BASIC CRITERIA FOR ENTRY
The Instructor Course
Basically at least 4 years experience in recognised martial arts/fighting disciplines, though this criterion will be relaxed if a candidate is known to and recommended by a Certified Urban Krav Maga Instructor. Prior to acceptance on the course, candidates who are not known to a Certified Urban Krav Maga Instructor will be required to show some evidence of their previous training.
N.B. that this is not a "quick and easy" way of becoming an Instructor. Our system has a good reputation and we will keep it that way. The Instructor Course is very intensive and suitable only for experienced martial artists. Successful candidates will also be expected to fully understand techniques and be able to impart them successfully to a wide range of student abilities.
No time is wasted on pure cardio exercises nor on techniques that you will never be able to use in a real confrontation.
Any candidates that fail will be able to re-take at no additional cost.
Students Attending on a "Bootcamp" Basis, i.e Non-Instructor
Open to anybody over 18.
How to Apply: Call Stewart on 0791 261 6361 or e-mail him on kravmaga.elondon@btinternet.com giving details of your previous and current martial arts training.
SOME FEEDBACK ON THE COURSE

After training in several martial arts over many years, including Wing Chun and several other styles of Krav Maga, I’ve found what I’m looking for in Urban Krav Maga; a fully developed fighting system using proven techniques. I wish I’d found you years ago .
I would reccomend anyone interested in the reality of going to the ground in the street look at the groundwork section of UKM.
Mark O’Neill – Urban Krav Maga Instructor
As a novice to ground work I was not looking forward to this weekend, but thanks to the instructors' training methods, knowledge & personalities the weekend was incredible & despite the brused chest, ribs, neck, shoulders & ears I came away buzzing. I would also like to thank every one else on the instructors course, a great bunch of very talented guys, for all their support & help. Thanks every one. Would not change a thing.
Jonathan Saunders – Urban Krav Maga and Tae Kwan Do Instructor
Great course, great team.
Ben Hockman, Chief Instructor Beyond Fighting
These weekends seemed like a doubled edged sword. While continuously leaving the gym battered, bruised and physically and mentally shattered I thrived on the fact that I was drilling this system inside out.
I thought that although there was a hell of a lot to cover (due to the breadth of the system), everyone taking part did a fantastic job taking it all in and did excellently on the final weekend. Personally, after Gershon and Andy’s weekend I feel a lot more able when it comes to ‘rolling’.
Geoff Roberts – Urban Krav Maga Instructor
With a traditional martial arts background in Kung Fu, I had little experience and practical knowledge of ground fighting. I also found that a lot of the techniques within my armoury were ineffective against more powerful opponents. UKM has helped me to be more direct, cut the fancy stuff and use techniques that focus on dealing with an attacker in the fastest, most effective way. This Martial Art does not rely on physical strength, but rather on technique and speed.
I would highly recommend the UKM instructors course to all experienced Martial Artists looking to consolidate their knowledge with a combination of proven effective techniques. The course is really physically and mentally challenging! Anyone looking for an easy ride are in for a shock... Prepare to shed blood, sweat and tears.
Stewart and Leo are world class instructors and the experience of training with them was invaluable. Their high expectations and attention to detail truely motivates you to raise your game!!! In addition, both guys have a great sense of humour and made each day of training really enjoyable. The 5 days flew by quickly... and I can safely speak for everyone when I say we will be back for future courses
AJ AbellaThe Urban Krav Maga course was excellent covering all stand-up ranges and on the floor. Armed and unarmed, its the whole package. In the street you can call on these practical skills to get you, friends or family out of any situation.
Stewart Mc Gill is and excellent teacher with his own way of teaching; he breaks down techniques, so you as a student can pick it up real easy, and at your own pace. Leo Negao is another positive factor in the Urban Krav Maga organisation. He really knows his stuff, and can adapt his ground game to the street. As guys who know real fighting will tell you , the ground is not a great place to be; but if you you are there Leo will show you how to make the best of a bad situation and get up quickly and safely.
I would recommend it to anyone,
Jimmy Kelly, Boxer and Self Defence Instructor, Manchester
